Imagine if JFK had been able to live out his full life, along with an honest, non-Watergate Richard Nixon, and about 1993 the two of them reconnected their friendship, (first established in 1946 in Congress). Then for 17 more years - clear up to 2010 they became a national force, united to bring about good government.
How good-weird would that be for American politics today? It might have been just what we needed today. Because it WAS for a distant day in America's past.
Two other former Presidents enjoyed the exact thing happening in their lives. If you are any sort of student of American history, you already know the answer: Jefferson and Adams (John).
And it seems a dream by a mutual friend, Benjamin Rush, began the whole process.
Oh and by the way....both Jefferson and Adams died within hours of one another on the 50th annivesary of the signing of The Declaration of Independence, July 4th, 1826.
May reconciliation be what America is REALLY known for, rather than simply for rebellion and revolution.
