The History Channel has come up with a very innovative and worthwhile idea:
Take a Vet to School Day.
Visit the site and spread the word to any public and private schools with which you come in contact.
Just recently, I was asked to help guide the Vineyard Christian Home School Co-op into its next level of education and service. I suppose it's because New Hope is doing well and my staff there is terrific, that I decided to accept this challenge. (The previous Principal resigned at the start of the school year.) I will help them for a school year, as they interview other professionals for the position.
So, if the two greatest challenges to the state and federal budgets are prisons and public schools, then this is a logical short term step for me to help these folks. (It's sure a lot less painful to send misbehaving malcontents to the Principal's office than it is to send them back to prison...)
Oh, and by the way...the Vineyard school is going to host just such a day for Vets! Take a look at the history channel link (above).
