"What would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me?"
Ringo Starr has left the building...or at least refuses to sign things anymore (after October 20th).
Well....apparently so. 45 years may well be the MOST time a guy could stand all the fan mail and bothersome requests for photos (I know I never get tired of sending MINE out...tee hee). Ringo has grounded his Yellow Submarine....and I bet he feels great!! I sure would.
Read on.
In this 2008 file photo (by Charles Rex Arbogast/AP Photo), former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, right, flashes peace signs with his wife Barbara Bach, left, during his 68th birthday celebration outside the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago.
Ringo Starr doesn't want to hear from you. If you do write, your letter will end up in the trash. That's the message from Richard Starkey, aka Ringo Starr. After 45 years of stardom, he doesn't want to spend any more time answering mail or sending signed photos back to fans. The fan fatigue led the former Beatles drummer to post a sometimes angry sounding short video clip on his Web site telling fans that any mail sent to him after Oct. 20 will not be read or answered. British television stations broadcast the video on Tuesday Oct. 14, 2008.

I really feel sorry for the guy. I mean, to come so far because of your fans who have supported you through everything (and even to attract new fans after 45 years) then forget who made you the "too busy" person you are. At first I was angry at the hubris and unmitigated gall, but now I just pity him. And I pray that whatever it is that has him too busy to be kind will give him a break in the future so that he has the time to remember his roots.

He says "Peace and Love" over and over in his audio comments. I bet this message is going to stir up reactions that don't quite qualify in either category...

Stop trash talking Richard "Ringo". Maybe if ya'll would stop harrasing him , he might sign autographs and write back to his fans. We all love Ringo but he is probably tired of people always following him.... I mean wouldn't you be sick of it? I'am a BIG
fan of him, and i would do anything to meet him. But we need to let him live. He is amazing and i will be attending his concert coming up. Does anyone know his REAL email? cause i know he probably wouldn't write back but it's worth a try.
