We're nearing the end of almost 2 years of campaigning for President. The major media focuses on an Alaskan Governor's ex-brother-in-law or a an ex-Pow's 2nd wife or a US Senator's ex-Pastor.
Where are the issues? Where are the solutions?
Let's set aside ex-inmate and prison reform...for this posting at least and look at education, instead.
Think about reform in education in an out-of-the-box fashion. Start with home schoolers (I can hear you saying: "Oh no! Not those little Amish weirdos....but just wait...)
Add regular school time-slots...and mix them up every other day! Welcome to the Vineyard Home School Co-op.
As a dad who has his kids there told me today: "We wanted them (his 2 kids) to have a consistant message as a worldview...and we are taking it one year at a time, as long as it's working...and this enabled us to make sure that they are getting one clear consistant message. So when they start getting mixed messages from another worldview, they can process the differences."
It's a wildly wonderful education that works. Parents, students (k-11) and teachers work together to help reform education - one student at a time. My son (Junior in HS) goes there, my bride teaches there. I'm involved there too.
There's no ex-wife, no ex-Pow nor ex-anything here...just current students who are learning much and loving it.
Visit the site, visit the school.
