First and foremost I'm glad we have KTVB Channel 7. Their news program is tops, I always go there first for my local coverage of news! If you haven't tried the website via your cell phone go try now…it is amazing (of course you have to have a decent cell phone).Coverage of weather is also great! The coverage of local high school sports is pretty cool, and I'm sure they get the high school teen and parent crowd for that. Their new(er) 24/7 channel is nice to have when you miss the normal news program time slot. But, do you cringe, when after you've seen ESPN's coverage of BSU and you have to watch BSU play on KTVB?
Now I have to say that watching BSU play Oregon, via whoever Oregon uses for their games on tv, was even more tragic. KTVB blows that news program away. And for everything else; KTVB is hands down the best local tv station in the valley. Now, that's just my opinion, and my opinion is not even worth a free cup of coffee at church on Sundays (actually coffee costs $.25, but it is worth it for the quality of coffee they use)
But I have to ask - when are we going to get a local broadcast of BSU games (and I include games in Moscow and other parts of Idaho & Utah) that is on par or close to ESPN's video quality? Maybe I'm asking too much...maybe Rick Strack or Doug Armstrong from KTVB could give a shout out about upcoming things or maybe just say that it is too expensive, economy is very bad, advertising sucks, etc. Maybe all the local stations could link together and give IDAHO something amazing.
Then again, maybe there's a pot of gold at the end of Obama's rainbow. What do you think about KTVB-BSU?
