A number of years ago I had the distinct pleasure of briefly heading up an organization known as the Parents Television Council (PTC) - in Hollywood. The goal of the Council at that time was to ensure that quality entertainment would be made available to families across America.
When I headed it up, I also felt that quality entertainment should be rewarded. Idahoan and Hollywood Director, Michael Hoffman's amazing film, The Emperor's Club, recived PTC's Annual Award that year. Quality entertainment never goes out of style.
Last year the firm I founded, New Hope Community Health, launched it's first play via "Ex-Inmate Theater" of Peter Kreeft's tremendously witty production of Between Heaven and Hell - the story of 3 men who all died within hours of each other: JFK, CS Lewis and Aldous Huxley.
The play met with great community support and was featured in a rather large article by the Idaho Statesman's entertainment and culture writer. Quality entertainment, it seems, doesn't go out of style, even if ex-inmates are the actors!
And so it goes for kids....this Thursday, December 11th, at 6 pm a wonderful assortment of young actors from the Vineyard Christian Home School Co-op (VCHSC) will present the timeless childhood story of Charlotte's Web. Quality entertainment by kids! And you KNOW that never goes out of style!
The students have helped co-craft the story, designed the set and developed the quirky characters straight out of both the pages of the book and the pages of the screenplay. Come as you are! Come enjoy the play. Admission is free, though "gift baskets" will be auctioned to help offset the initial costs of starting a Drama Class.
Some photos of the cast and crew - all are home schooled and all are serious about "play":
