At a video shoot in Little Rock... Sitting in for the talent, as the crew prepared the lighting and dollie-moves, gave me a greater sensitivity for what those who make their living in front of the cameras have to put up with regarding criticism... Especially, the recent criticism of President Obama's regular use of prompters seems particularly unneeded. We need to cut these folks some slack. Den

No, not too critical...I just wonder if special "helps" like prompters can REALLY keep us on track about real issues. So often, the Bill O'Reilleys of the world mock US Senators or the President because of some verbal slip up, some gaffe. That's just not cool.
If, however, an elected official is so dependent on "helps" like prompters to communicate even about what ought to be fundamental philosophical beliefs, then not only does he/she have a problem, but then...so do we - because that person is representing us and he/she doesn't even know what they believe.
I think that's the balance.

But at what point does our slack turn in to a blind eye?
Using telepromptors is one thing, relying on them is quite another.
Just a thought :) too critical?
