Yesterday's post regarding my friend "John" was so hard to write.
Today's is even harder and sadder...
John Slack, long time leader of the Pro-life community of Idaho passed away sometime after 1:30 pm today with his family and friends by his side.
John died apparently due to complications from the Swine Flu (H1N1.)
Susan and I were just called by his wife.
I loved John's zest for life, his ardent stand for life and his living life...until the end. His clear request about keeping him alive, while at the same time not stopping him from dying was honored by his family and St. Lukes.
John Slack heard his wife tell him that she loved him...and in an instant heard the words directly from the lips of his Savior: "Well done, John, my good and faithful servant".
And I am certain that my son, Nate, shook John's hand and said, " C'mon John, wait till you see this..."
And they began investigating (today) the Heaven about which John had studied his entire adult Christian life.
