My bride and I are at the annual Christmas dinner and fundraiser for Idaho Chooses Life tonight.
It's fun to see how this event has grown over the years. The crowd was huge, including Legislators...one of whom was Rep. Raul Labrador - who is now a candidate for US Congress. He spoke exceptionally well about how his mother gave up everything for him when he was born. It was amazing. (BTW, tonight we had the meeting that I referred to in a previous blog. It went well, tonight, as we discussed the Congressional race.)
I had hoped to see other GOP candidates in both Congressional Districts, but did not see any. I suppose it's a busy time of year.
David Ripley, the founder of ICL, just gave one of the most superb presentations on the issue of "life" that I have ever heard him give. People rose in applause at the conclusion of his speech. I was so moved.
Though not as involved in the pro-life movement as my bride and I had once been, Susan and I were nonetheless so thankful for those who have come forward to NOW help. So blessed. So thankful.
David's connection in his speech of the "death of the innocents" during baby Jesus' nativity days to the many children who have been sacrificed to our days of unbridled ease was spot on.
Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life." His birth-message 2000 years ago was about "life".
It still is.
