I'm driving with Todd Hollenbeck of New Hope. We're visiting all the NH houses today and tomorrow. Checking on maintanence things, etc...
He mentioned to me that in September he held a "neighborhood night" at one of our staffed, safe and sober homes. People came.
And they enjoyed themselves: food, fun and friendship. Some neighbors ( who initially were SO fearful of having ex-addicts living next to them) shared with all present how truly pleased they are now, having seen our guys living out their sobriety day-to-day.
I agree with them. We're providing homes for homeless ex-addicts who have been directed by the system to find sober living quarters...and we are seeing hopelessnesss change to hopefulness.
That's awesome.
We have available space at New Hope. Let us know how we can help a loved one of yours, who is struggling with addiction.
Especially at Christmastime, having a home for the holiday means something entirely different to folks coming out of addiction.
Merry Christmas, again!
