During the horribly hard Civil War years of Gen. George McClellan's leadership, President Lincoln made a tough decision.
Since Mclellan refused to regularly report the War's progress to Lincoln or his Sec. Of War (Stanton), the President decided to go see him.
At his house. This house.
And the President waited in the hallway on a chair...alone.
When the General returned home, he walked past the President and straight up to bed.
Complete and total humiliation. In this house.
And today we remember Lincoln and....McClellan's name means nothing.
