I've asked the question for years: with the devastation of the "family" through neglect, divorce and indifference what will happen to the next generation of males?
Raised by over-worked and very tired single mothers, "little-men" need male mentors. Taught, by and large in the early years by females, these mini-males need real, love, sweaty and burly men around them to show what a man is...and therefore what a man does.
Too harsh to say it in that fashion?
If you say "yes", then you misunderstand me.
Do you notice that I am NOT saying "little-ladies" need females to mentor them? Why omit that?
Because women have been so wildly successful in mentoring both their girls and their boys.
They care and show up. The missing males of America have failed at being Alpha Males because they often have been neglected themselves by THEIR dads, etc, etc. They are AWOL - and that's what the group Promise Keepers unsuccesfully attempted to convey 15 years ago.
So, what is the best idea of what an Alpha Male could be?
Try this article on for size:
We used to have real men in this country; in fact, we seem to have specialized in them. George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, the Marquis de Lafayette (officially designated as an Honorary American, and buried in American soil, by his choice, in Paris) and so many other extraordinary men at the time of our Founding, were alpha males all. They, to a man, exhibited remarkable courage and strength, both in character and in action, in a time of life or death for them, and for the country they were working so diligently, and at such great peril, to found.
Where are men like George Washington and the others today? Do they in fact still exist?
Yes, they do, though not in preponderance, and this is for a number of reasons.
