(Strawberries, Peaches, fresh-picked Blueberries - you know what you like...)
Well...the flick based on CS Lewis' "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is that luscious piece of fruit.
And Jack Black's "Gulliver's Travels" bares the waxy image of fruit, never-to-be eaten.
Both films were seen by me within 24 hours of each other. Only one film will last the test of time....especially since the other, Jack Black's piece of woebegone loss, was the one I just saw minutes ago ( and wish I hadn't) ....
All I could think about as I left Jack Black's "G'sT" was..."I feel like I am watching a very funny Jack Black transition into a very unfunny (and yet STILL well-funded) "Chevy Chase" when he went from top-grosser to a gross sad shadow of himself.
CS Lewis' test of time continues on....
The taste of real fruit is wonderful.
May Jack Black take some time to read Mr. Lewis.
(And may Chevy Chase counsel Mr. Black.)
Either that, or just have Jack Black spend his final amount of Hollywood "capital" on National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation 3" & sign Chevy Chase as soon as he can, after they get Randy Quaid out of jail...
