The Wall Street Journal reports shots fired inside the lobby of the conservative Family Research Council offices in Washington DC. The lobby guard was shot but is not in a life-threatening situation.
"(FRC President Tony) Perkins recently spoke out in the controversy surrounding comments by the chief executive of restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A that were critical of gay marriage. "All Chick-Fil-A did was refuse to be bullied by the politically correct crowd," Mr. Perkins said in a radio commentary.
Gary Bauer, a former president of the Family Research Council and former Republican presidential candidate, said: "The values of the Family Research Council—pro-life and pro-family—are shared by millions of Americans of many backgrounds, and should not make anyone a target of violence."
The suspect is now in custody.
It will be interesting if the facts show that he or she is attached to some domestic terrorist group; even more interesting if that group is a sexual orientation-focused group.
My hope is that it is not.
