I had to laugh - not the kind of chuckle that comes from humor - but the kind of scornful derisive laugh that follows foolishness after observing an industry's failure to do what we expect of them.
In this case, the Idaho media failed to inform the people of Idaho about a major story - even though they had it in front of them for a full day.
NYC's Mayor gave a donation of $200,000 to an Idaho issue and The Idaho Conservative Blogger (ICB) broke the story. But Idaho's press was ethier asleep at their keyboards or purposely over-cautious by not linking to him.
Or maybe they were waiting for the New York Tiems to break the story....
These Idaho folks didn't cover the story for almost 24 hours, though it was right in front of them.
Twenty four hours later. Did I say that already?
Why did they, en mass, not link to ICB's site?
The story had a strange reminiscent feel to it.
And ICB had a strange Matt Drudge feel to his piece.
Remember how the national media did not take Drudge seriously for 2+ days, while the issue of Monica's blue dress was presented by The Drudge Report?
I'm kinda wondering if Mayor Bloomeberg's Blue Dress stains weren't big enough for the Idaho press to appreciate? ICB saw the dress and the stains...
Next time?
I'd imagine they should pay attention to Idaho's own Matt Drudge.

Stopped clocks are right twice a day, but for some reason I don't refer to them to see what time it is. How many inside tips did ICB trot out that didn't amount to anything? Beats me, I don't keep track of the guy. Maybe you know.
I'm OK waiting another day and getting confirmed news reports from professionals rather than trying to guess which of so many possible tips are hot and which are not. In general.
