David Ripley, once the leader of the pro-choice community in our state, was eventually touched by the death of his own pre-born child. Then his life changed.
He began to see things differently.
And in time he became a leader on behalf of little children, yet unborn.
Here are his comments for today:
"Christmas is the quintessential "pro-Life" holiday on the calendar. Not only is it a celebration of Life ... it is the powerful retelling of a world redeemed by a newborn child. As we gather to celebrate God's greatest gift to mankind, it is fitting to reflect upon the method God chose to share that gift:
A dependent infant, sheltered from the elements in a stable, would grow to manifest the full measure of God's love for humanity. Yet there was no room for Him at the Inn.
How many other gifts have we carelessly disregarded in the years since Roe v. Wade became the new measure of our society? The scientists, poets and doctors destroyed in the womb are known only to God. But we can be certain that humanity is much the lesser for those who have not shared this walk with us.
We give thanks to the Lord for His Only Begotten Son - the Hope of the world.
And we give thanks that He continues to allow us to fight the scourge of a culture enamored with death. We give thanks for you, for your support, prayers and encouragement.
We ask the Lord to richly bless you and your family as you celebrate that most humble baby in the manger.
May the Peace of the Lord fill your home."
