Mike Crapo is my friend.
And apparently my friend was arrested today for a DUI in VA.
And I stand with him and with his bride, Susan.
His remarks of accepting his responsibility and taking steps speaks volumes about his character. I've worked with thousands of folks who have had these types of problems. My own son was arrested for substance abuse.
And the first healthy step is what Mike Crapo has just done. No lies. No positioning. Just truth.
That's Mile Crapo.
And I stand with my friend.

Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo (R) issued an apology Sunday after he was arrested in Virginia for driving under the influence.
Alexandria police said the GOP lawmaker was stopped by an officer on routine patrol early Sunday morning when he saw Crapo’s vehicle run a red light at 12:45 a.m.
Crapo underwent a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was subsequently taken into custody “without incident,” according to a police spokesperson. The senator was later released under bond.
Crapo in a statement Sunday night apologized for the incident, saying he was “I am deeply sorry for the actions that resulted in this circumstance.”
“I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, my Idaho constituents and any others who have put their trust in me,” he said. “I accept total responsibility and will deal with whatever penalty comes my way in this matter.
“I will also undertake measures to ensure that this circumstance is never repeated,” Crapo added.
The senator is slated to appear in court on Jan. 4.
