Believe it or not this weekend I was listening to Rick James' Super Freak. But I didn't know it. My friend Jeff Harvey pointed it out to me.
I heard the intro and at the appropriate moment during the intro, I said "Can't touch this..."
I can hear you asking, "Dennis, you said Rick James, not MC Hammer."
Hmmm.
'Tis a puzzlement.
Because I THOUGHT I was listening to some "Hammertime" and suddenly got a lyric about a freaky little girl that my mother wouldn't want me to bring home...
The intros were identical. Identical.
And sure enough upon Goggleing that stuff, I found out that there was a lawsuit between the two entertainers, ultimately being settled in court in Mr. James' million dollar favor.
Apparently he COULD touch this...
So then, I thought about George Harrison and his famous song "He's so fine". Never heard of it?
Listen in.
And then I remembered a song that George Harrison made about his court case loss. (Which he didn't rip off from someone, I don't think...) - Den
