I hate porn.
It devalues all women. It reduces the beauty of a lady's inner glow to an outer facade/lie.
It steals the innocence of the young men who immerse themselves in believing such a lie.
And it bruises the souls of men who even casually use it.
There is nothing good in porn.
And yet, precious people, made in God's image use it and are used by it.
Case in point: the "stars" of the adult industry.
Those who have exited it over the years have written eloquently about the pain that was a part of their lives. Linda Lovelace's conversion to a new life in Christ was a turning point for her and for others.
And today, a man who has appeared in over 2,000 porn films is asking for prayer. For his life.
For his health.
And many will mock this request.
Not me. He knows he may well be saying farewell.
Ron Jeremy is a man who, like me, needs joy, peace and calm in his life. And it will not settle in his heart in any other way than through Christ Jesus.
That's too simple? Not really. It's a prayer away. It's simple, sure, but not easy.
And Ron Jeremy's asking for prayer. My prayers will be for him. For real life, even if things on this side of the veil of eternity don't work out for him - he needs Christ so that he can have life as he's always wanted it - when it really counts - on the other side of eternity.
You too?
Ron Jeremy wanted a life lived abundantly and he's settled for for the opposite. He's wanted fresh fruit and he's spent a lifetime consuming wax replicas of it. Maybe you too?
Take time to go to God today. Ask him for His help in your own life. He is there. He will listen.
And while you're at it, take a minute to pray for Ron Jeremy.
I will too.
