One state Legislator told ICB under condition of anonymity, "(Butch) Otter is probably behaving like a total %$@& *@#
towards the state Republican Party staff right now. The party had to
issue a resolution against the insurance exchange thing, because the
rank and file, grassroots Republicans around the state demanded it.
It's a pretty big deal when a statewide political party opposes the
agenda of the Governor who supposedly sits at the top of the pile, but,
oh-well. The party is about ideas and ideals, not about Butch..."
Ouch! Could a standoff between the Governor and Idaho GOP Legislators be coming?
Ouch is right.
What is happening down at the Legislature?
The State GOP is in it to win it on this state insurance exchange, it seems.
Apparently, Idaho's years of believing in the 10th Amendment are bearing fruit.
Butch Otter is too experienced a politician to let this happen. He's ususally the one with the palm creasing the jowls of his opponents on such constitutional issues.
HE'S been the one touting this federal amendment for YEARS!
As ICB writes: Stay Tuned.
